The office is situated in La Montagne residential suburb, which is in the eastern part of Pretoria.  The office accommodates over 150 people and also accommodates the Soillab laboratory which is owned by Vela VKE.  The Group Corporate Office is encompassed in the same building.  The office may be accessed very easily off the N4 freeway at the Simon Vermooten off-ramp.  All the specialty fields in Vela VKE have staff located in this office and the convenient situation of our largest office gives Vela VKE quick access to major national clients in both government and parastatal bodies.  Some of the fields of expertise in the Pretoria office are geometric design, rehabilitation, transportation planning and traffic engineering, management systems, municipal services, electrical services and structural design.

Office Head - George Munyai

The office is headed by George Munyai who has 25 years experience in civil engineering and is a registered professional engineer, having graduated with a BSc (Engineering) from the University of the Witwatersrand and later completed his MSc Engineering degree at the same university.  He is on Vela VKE’s EXCO, which is the top management structure within the VKE Group.  Mr Munyai was a founder member and managing director of the well known firm of civil engineers namely Munyai Malaka Engineers (Pty) Ltd.  This firm merged with Vela VKE in March 2008 and subsequently, Mr Munyai took over the overall management of the combined Group’s Pretoria operations.  Mr Munyai has substantial experience in design of urban and rural roads, municipal and building services.  In his post graduate studies, he specialised in water management.
