VAE Turnout Factory Upgrade

The existing VAE (Voestalpine) turnout factory in Kimberley has to be upgraded to double the capacity and to facilitate the inclusion of the concrete sleepers in the finished product. Provision has to be made that a specially constructed tilt wagon will pick up the turnouts in the factory and transport them to site.

A project to enhance and improve the offloading, safety and movement of rails for the manufacturing of rail turning sets. The project included the rehabilitation of oil polluted soil.
